The backspace key isn't working correctly while I'm chatting in Chaggle in Internet Explorer 8. Why?
The way the backspace key functions in the Explorer bar (the area of the browser where Chaggle is displayed) in IE8 is different from how it functioned in IE7. Because of this, when running Chaggle with IE8, the backspace button functions like the back button in your browser, taking you to the previous page. At this time, we don't have a workaround for this issue, but we are working on it and appreciate your patience as we find the solution.
What's the difference between the "Chat" and "Crumbs" tabs?
Chaggle online chat sessions happen at the domain level, or the main "home" page of a site. For example, when you're at www.craigslist.com you'll be able to chat with everyone else on that domain—no matter what page they're viewing within that site.
Think of Crumbs as comments you post about content on a specific page. You can leave Crumbs behind on a page to let others who visit that same page what you think. Find a great deal on a GPS unit at REI.com? Leave your comment right on the product page—only other Chaggle online chat users viewing that same page will see your Crumb. It's a great way to rate products and vendors or share thoughts about things you may read or see.
What's the difference between clicking "Send" and clicking "Shout Out"?
"Send" is simply the basic action of delivering your message to the chat room. Type your message into the text entry area in the Chaggle chat sidebar and click "Send". Only people in the room along with you will see what you've sent.
"Shout Out" lets you share your message with people in the chat room—just like "Send"—but also posts your message in a couple of other places: the Chaggle blog and your personal Chaggle blog. A "Shout Out" includes the full URL for the page you visited and your comments about it. So users can click right through to see what you've seen—or you can use it as a bookmark tool to save certain pages or sites for yourself.
Now you can post your Shout Outs to Twitter and share all your Chaggle finds with your followers. Just add your basic Twitter info to your Chaggle profile and start sharing with tweople everywhere!
What is "Park"?
"Park" gives you the freedom to stay in one chat room while you surf the web—literally parking the Chaggle sidebar as you visit other sites. So, if you like a particular room and the people you've connected with, you can continue the conversation when you leave that site to visit other places on the web. Just click "Park" to park your Chaggle sidebar and stay in the room; Click it again to "unpark" Chaggle and see who's online visiting other sites along with you.
